Let it snow

We finally have "real" winter and snow here in my part of Norway. But brrr!, it has been cold the last couple of weeks: between -18C and -10C (0-10F). But I don't complain: I prefer the clean & cold snow over grey & dirty!

Snow means shoveling. As our roof is steep and slick, the snow on it usually comes down from it all at once - which means more shoveling. And of course the snow lands just outside the front door: that's what the journaling in this layout is about :-)

Cardstock & vellum: ClubScrap. Paint/modelling paste: Panduro. Mask: ClearSnaps: Alphas: American Crafts. Snowflake brads: Freckled Fawn. Dies: Life Style Crafts. Doilie: unknown

The January Take 5 Tuesday Challenge at Paper Issues, inpired me to make this layout. Here’s how it works: each month there will be a list of items to use as inspiration and starting point for your project. From that list, you pick 5 items to use on your project. From the January liste I picked color green, snowflake, die cut, paint, alpha sticker, title, cardstock and hand written journaling.

Thank you for taking your time to stop by! What's the weather like in your part of the world?

Masculin hybrid cards

I never seem to have masculin cards enough - not that strange actually, as I work with men and live with men (in this case I consider my kids men *lol*). So I have decided to stack up on men cards and here are my first this week:

Digital designs: The Nifty Pixel. Button: Jillibean Soup.
Patterned paper, cardstock, twine & dots: unknown

I have used the "Plus Side" free printables from The Nifty Pixle for all these cards. The designs are printed on patterned papers and overlays, and assembled as traditional cards. Digital designs + traditional card making = hybrid cards.

Digital designs: Nifty Pixel. Washi: Panduro.
Patterned paper, cardstock,, note sign & dots: unknown

Overlays are always difficult to photo, because of the reflections!

Digital designs: The Nifty Pixels. Button: Jillibean Soup.
Patterned paper, cardstock, twine & dots: unknownt

Thank you for stopping by, and please come back on Tuesday for another masculin card!
Tell me - do you ever make hybrid cards?

Let's go crazy - CSI#116

I believe every child here in Norway dream of a winter when it's snow enough to take a jump from the roof :-) We din't have enough at home this winter, but some parts of the mountains indeed have!

Here is DS11 when his wish came true:

Cardstock: Bazill (white), ClubScrap (greenish grey). Patterened papers: MME (teal), Panduro (red). Stickers & metal stars: Basic Grey. Epoxy stars & iresin badge: Freckled Fawn. Stamp: Kaisekraft. Alpha: American Craft. Epoxy buttons: Epiphany Crafts. Other metal accents: unknown
The journaling says the same as I did on top of this page :-)

Close up photos:

The metal accent is a badge from a boy bonnet :-)

This layout is made for CSI #114:

How I solved the case:

*Colors: all used
*Evidence: metal, buttons, labels, diagonal cross-hatch pattern
* Testimony: Use song title or lyrics to inspire your journaling ( I used Prince's let's Go Crazy)

As a kid, my parents allowed me to jump from the roof when enough snow, and I can still recall teh feeling of excitement. Have you ever done it?

Card #2

All papers: Kaiser Craft

Pre cut  pieces stacked to add some dimension. A little Sticles around the edge and on the ornaments makes it sparkle.

Christmas Cards Part 2

As I promised you in my previous post, I'm back today with Christmas cards featuring sequins and chevrons. I got the idea for these cards when I spotted this week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays:

Even if I find traditional patterns and colors for seasonal cards easy for the eye , I admit I like using non traditional ones, too, like those I used for the first card today ( which is my entry for the challenge)

Patterned papers: Amy Tangerine. Sequin bow: Freckled Fawn
Twine: The Twinery. Stamp: Imagenicse. Sequins: unknown

Close up photo:

Ornament dies: LifestyleCrafts

A second card with sequins and chevrons, this time in more traditional colors:

Patterned papers: Little Yellow Bicycle. Washi (merry Christmas): Panduro
Sequins: unknown. Glitter: Sticles

Close up - a little glitter makes the card more festive!
And that washi rape is perfect for cards!

Ornament dies: LifestyleCrafts

What do you prefer for Christmas cards: traditional or non traditional colors and patterns - or a mix?
