I do...<br />
<br />
I have challenged myself to go digital, too, in 2017 and I'm going to use the <a href="http://beckyhiggins.com/project-life-app/">Project Life App</a> to start with.<br />
<br />
Hands down, it was so easy to use, and this layout is the first I made, using free templates and collection packs:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxbimWgP2VtgGrvEGBkJ3_klEyi_-l8gTEVhLJRnxxPfzA1cD-Ttki-oy8DkNsavt1BaJ9n_0jxnN7YFwSG16uV_74XJNPQIGAoEmb_W8FQmUpSl962mg3wmunLxjQyisvJJmxJZQSyVl1/s1600/1+Christmas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxbimWgP2VtgGrvEGBkJ3_klEyi_-l8gTEVhLJRnxxPfzA1cD-Ttki-oy8DkNsavt1BaJ9n_0jxnN7YFwSG16uV_74XJNPQIGAoEmb_W8FQmUpSl962mg3wmunLxjQyisvJJmxJZQSyVl1/s640/1+Christmas.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
One of those trips we have lots of photos from, is our hiking trip into the mountains this fall. I wanted to check out how a digital layout from our trip to the waterfall "Myfallet" could look like:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6LX1dbhh2VuMs-H8zkRR5Zvs3HnQ6PowBkBRPyUrs_wStPCD4ZNeMNp1RCIdzNahE7CAEWmdAns7TjxTPD7eKeqpfCIjrEaQ3PM5nMISrIc_jr5pVIQwxrLzOToJHzJc1d-iN84qn4kL-/s1600/3+Fjelltur.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6LX1dbhh2VuMs-H8zkRR5Zvs3HnQ6PowBkBRPyUrs_wStPCD4ZNeMNp1RCIdzNahE7CAEWmdAns7TjxTPD7eKeqpfCIjrEaQ3PM5nMISrIc_jr5pVIQwxrLzOToJHzJc1d-iN84qn4kL-/s640/3+Fjelltur.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Worked as a charm!<br />
<br />
<br />
Then I got really brave and scrapped a (silly) photo session of my cousin, his daughter and my husband:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRC8ItqDsUYCS-b-f_ppTQZKjsgsl3EOIk4y-BBCEZ-ranJGA9NhYzU2q0NcS49zNqGGt5oJMA0o_AlD_fthwahG0GIM40t3ePHmxKA9YNKto99jmBVOV07zQcyZS0ciTc4OCOUU3vQoEm/s1600/2+Family.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRC8ItqDsUYCS-b-f_ppTQZKjsgsl3EOIk4y-BBCEZ-ranJGA9NhYzU2q0NcS49zNqGGt5oJMA0o_AlD_fthwahG0GIM40t3ePHmxKA9YNKto99jmBVOV07zQcyZS0ciTc4OCOUU3vQoEm/s640/2+Family.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So, do I have any plans for using the PL app? Oh, yes.<br />
<ul>
<li>I plan on documenting snap shots from our daily life weekly, two or three photos from each week, just to tell the stories I often forget are worth telling.</li>
<li>I will use the app on a long road trip later this year, making a layout every night using the best photos of the day - a kind of trip diary.</li>
<li>Any other occation when I feel I want to have lots of photos in my album.</li>
</ul>
I have figured out how I can print at home from the app - I will share with you in a later post, so stay tuned!Hilde Aaslund aka Scoobiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06937498198251713682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029604787408553966.post-70095210746698893622017-01-02T20:51:00.003+01:002017-01-02T20:51:54.417+01:00Happy new year - and CSI case file no 221Happy New Year, people!<br />
<br />
<br />
Are you as excited about the new year as I am? While 2014 and 2015 was really tough on my family, 2016 was peaceful and calm but with some perfect, small challenges to remind us that life isn't easy all the time. I cross my fingers 2017 will flow easily, too!<br />
<br />
I'm starting the new year scrap wise by sending congratulations to CSI on their fifth year! I'm proud to have been invited to the party with a GDT spot!<br />
<br />
Here is the first CSI Challenge in 2017:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju9qeednW9QGQpke5MoEiBKYAT57AhZQt85-UbAutE56fkHR6wvsmXKK6AFL0lW-4fNSo1R8RvaRmIKSTQk5QWGJkO2E8T_iA-s0cFNbKliAueMT4Y47UEIj7q7KuJCq1EuuW7-FhyZ68/s1600/221+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju9qeednW9QGQpke5MoEiBKYAT57AhZQt85-UbAutE56fkHR6wvsmXKK6AFL0lW-4fNSo1R8RvaRmIKSTQk5QWGJkO2E8T_iA-s0cFNbKliAueMT4Y47UEIj7q7KuJCq1EuuW7-FhyZ68/s640/221+copy.jpg" width="624" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And here is my take on it:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR8OJczkviAhTOUPWMuExtQAjb96OZPJ7YjLcmHDm7UyiLhhx9Q1yFuZGaiK9vSpotvY_3jLsk-Rys8cXQ3oS3yW4AQFASzBFsyMqJP11aTbvh3qAlv1gis7_02lmoMaLuX7mrdrnL1LU-/s1600/Celebrate+life.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="636" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR8OJczkviAhTOUPWMuExtQAjb96OZPJ7YjLcmHDm7UyiLhhx9Q1yFuZGaiK9vSpotvY_3jLsk-Rys8cXQ3oS3yW4AQFASzBFsyMqJP11aTbvh3qAlv1gis7_02lmoMaLuX7mrdrnL1LU-/s640/Celebrate+life.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div>
How I solved the case:</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Colors & sketch</div>
<ul>
<li>All five colors + sketchused</li>
</ul>
<div>
Evidence:</div>
<ul>
<li>Tiny dots, grid</li>
<li>Banners</li>
<li>Enamel dots</li>
</ul>
Testimony:<br />
<ul>
<li>Inspiration Words: delicious, sweet, life<br />My journaling is about how sweet life can be; a weekend without the kids but With good friends and With lots of good Food and ine</li>
</ul>
<br />

I just loved the food and wine and the beautiful old city! The weather was just perfect so we did a lot of sightseeing - and walking in the sun meant getting thirsty. When asked - who wanted a cold beer?<br />

One of my fav places is <a href="http://paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a> (PI) which not only is a store, but also have a creative design team which whip up monthly fun challenges on PI's FB-page. One of them is "Pawsitively Pets" and the september twist was to use, on your page <em>"something new to you, and something you have hoarded".</em><br />

I had, new to me, a package of photo frames and paper pieces (to be used on pocked pages) and desided it was time to dig into them. I am a button hoarder - I love buttons, and the wood cats are hoarded, too. Time to let them go!<br />
<br />
Do you hoard scrap stuff, too?<br />

<li>Is it me telling my mum to (still) rock hard?</li>
<li>Is it her beeing rock hard (no, she's really a sweetie, but she's quite tough, too)?</li>
<li>Or is it just the feeling you get when you hug a cairn?</li>

<br />
Since I don't do any DT work atm, just scrap for my own amusement and to preserve memories, I suck inspiration wherever I find it. The idea for this spesific design came from a lifting challenge at <a href="http://paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a> (where I also bought the papers):<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwiNHqT2Dbpm5zqTwJbE-isHfnTYhszlcrvYVW7EMUkpt7CUNlE7qqzfz2amQIib5-2R0Hzwr90_5jC-YA-31sFrIdsPiWgy0mkTXTtlc4_O5ELBfWU7GJ9Ad0eruqQLyJxoEAUNgCOBup/s1600/PI+Lift+161009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwiNHqT2Dbpm5zqTwJbE-isHfnTYhszlcrvYVW7EMUkpt7CUNlE7qqzfz2amQIib5-2R0Hzwr90_5jC-YA-31sFrIdsPiWgy0mkTXTtlc4_O5ELBfWU7GJ9Ad0eruqQLyJxoEAUNgCOBup/s320/PI+Lift+161009.jpg" width="305" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I have a hard time using large heart shapes, I replaced the large hearts in the layout with pieces of paper. I still you still can see the main design in my lift. Agree?<br />

It was one of those wonderful fall weekends when the days start out with chilly mornings, just below the freezing point, and end up with sun and temperatures at least 15 degrees higher. Mix it up with some wind and there are hours you take mittens and bonnets on - off - on - off - just because it's either too hot - or too cold.<br />
<br />
I took some snapshots of my oldest son one of those hours - he really could not decide if to keep the bonnet on or not. With the bonnet half way off he reminded me of a garden gnome...<br />

I have spent the season wisely, though, both done som travelling and also spending hours and hours doing garden work. I just love it so much! But now, as we're facing fall first, then a long winter, I might find time to scrap again :-)<br />
<br />
Our garden has been through some major changes this summer: we put up a greenhouse, made a pond, dug up boring old shrubs and planted more perennials. For some reason I also got this sudden urge for pink flamingos! The weren't easy to find, but finally I did. I can't think of anything more kitchy than pink flamingoes! Here they are, with me.<br />

The main reason for the trip was the Christmas market, but we did some sightseeing, too. Oneone of the bridges lovers had put up lockers to show their love, and I found the collection so pretty and colorful, that I needed to take a photo of it.<br />

<br />
The idea for the design came from one of the April scrap lift challenges at Paper Issues. Here is the layout to lift, made by <span style="background-color: #f6f7f8; color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px;">Janet Grzanka-Dlugokenski</span><span style="background-color: #f6f7f8; color: #141823; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px;"> </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-sXgi3bjUWz3eg4iJmLQTckqcgtWVHUg_TA91hMNKBF3X4xdoOHroxABnZH5booD8ePqM5JrRUoBQ75HMdQS0lOS1YXFWIzBNZX3Zh6VOpzOhNimJwlYzP-p2_bf88GZCNaC9_GWQT2hD/s1600/Lift+PI+1004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-sXgi3bjUWz3eg4iJmLQTckqcgtWVHUg_TA91hMNKBF3X4xdoOHroxABnZH5booD8ePqM5JrRUoBQ75HMdQS0lOS1YXFWIzBNZX3Zh6VOpzOhNimJwlYzP-p2_bf88GZCNaC9_GWQT2hD/s320/Lift+PI+1004.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />

I'm a big fan of sketches, and have always been, but scraplifting has taken it one more step further: watching designer's details and tecniques is so inspirational!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a> has a new scrap lift challenge every weekend, and over the next week I'm going to show my take on the April lifts.<br />
<br />
Let's start with "Saddle up":<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg64sIuvVrZz5E3X79deX8S8FkoLed0lDAg8Wec4pPITv4u2CJVguc24SRhUuhCT1R0vSF1eQcWLanyCiZ6DoIUzDJfEy1KbkgyMiN2OIP9ZT4ZAG4EnaFAPN985RbvKU9yi45bZXxeh81u/s1600/Saddle+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg64sIuvVrZz5E3X79deX8S8FkoLed0lDAg8Wec4pPITv4u2CJVguc24SRhUuhCT1R0vSF1eQcWLanyCiZ6DoIUzDJfEy1KbkgyMiN2OIP9ZT4ZAG4EnaFAPN985RbvKU9yi45bZXxeh81u/s640/Saddle+up.jpg" width="638" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Background paper: Lemon Owl. Rubon & alpha : Basic Grey.<br />Stickers: Sandylion.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Here is the layout I lifted:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9hVVX9OBNzbTo5sEmzjjTxF6kEEPwhlva2OOjpz3d4p9WQsgTbeG0y99kyiJImoMt0_ouq9Dp57Rxd8ussGrvWzCRdk8BVA6wyyX6tyvXuomxaLCYrVLWbUYpWqV1vm_lz4_BFH-ah6yN/s1600/Lift+PI+0304.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9hVVX9OBNzbTo5sEmzjjTxF6kEEPwhlva2OOjpz3d4p9WQsgTbeG0y99kyiJImoMt0_ouq9Dp57Rxd8ussGrvWzCRdk8BVA6wyyX6tyvXuomxaLCYrVLWbUYpWqV1vm_lz4_BFH-ah6yN/s320/Lift+PI+0304.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Layout by Kelly Feldmad</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I was attracted to the general design and multiple photos, and chose to have a bottom border, too, to keep the layout balanced. Actually, scraplifting is pretty much like using a sketch: you take inspiration from it and make it yours as you feel like. No need to copy every detail!<br />

<br />
Summer can be chilly in the mountains, but it still was a wonderful weekend - good, sturdy horses and a beautiful landscape. I was teamed up with the horse Hogda Viljar - a good choice made by the instructors - not too hot a horse, but not completely dead either :-)<br />
<br />

I love digging, weeding, cutting and getting dirt under my nails. My long time goal is to have a pretty, low maintenance garden, but I I'm not sure if I'll ever get there :-)<br />
<br />
One of the thinkg we do to keep weeds away/down is cover up areas with thick layers of bark. We haven'd refilled in ages, so last summer we needed tons to get back on track. Actually, me & the husband managed to get rid of this huge pile in just a short weekend, using nothing else but wheel barrels & shovels!<br />

My mojo has been long gone, but it returned when I saw the awesome challenges at the <a href="http://www.paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a> Spring Crop, as seen on my previous blog posts. I got so inspired that I decided to dig into the Paper Issues (PI) March challenges as well. Every Sunday PI is hosting a lift challenge, so I did even two more, just to keep the mojo rolling. These next two I will showcase in the next to upcoming blog posts.<br />

<br />
We picked <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wroc%C5%82aw">Wroclaw</a>, Poland, for our first "European" Christmas marked, think staring with a not too big one, could be good. Besides, Wroclaw have an interesting, but also cruel, story, and most of what you need is in walking distance from the town hall.<br />
<br />
Was the Christmas market different here than in Norway? Yes, as expected. More lights, different food, different merchandises. But we relly enjoyed it!<br />

Here are my two sons in the market square:<br />

And then I used it for the <a href="http://hildeaaslund.blogspot.no/2016/04/queen-elizabeth-look-alike.html">"Queen Elizabeth Look Alike"</a> layout. I admit it. I don't often make pages about myself, usually as I am behind camera. They don't all have to be in pink or baby blue do they?<br />
<br />
Here they are - all materials from my huge pile of scraps, cut files from Silhouette.<br />
<br />
Green& yellow - why not?<br />

But I promise, the baby cards I promised you in my previous post, will be up on Tuesday!<br />
<br />
Last monday we put our old cocker spaniel Scoobie down, and her crate is now empty:<br />

The house is empty - you know the small details like her begging for food or cuddling, barking when the door bell rings etc etc. But I admit I don't miss all the fur around!<br />

The design for the layout is taken from the March sketch at <a href="http://www.scrapping-clearly.blogspot.no/2016/03/march-sketch-by-chloe.html">Scrapping Clearly:</a><br />

I flipped it to fit my photo, but bisides from that stuck pretty close to the sketch.<br />

Thank you for popping by, and please come back as I have more pages to show you!<br />

I got the idea for this page from one of the January challenges at <a href="http://www.paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a>: <i>Use a large photo on your layout</i>. This photo needed to be large, or you would not see either the cat or the bird.<br />
<br />
Do you use large size photos on your layouts?Hilde Aaslund aka Scoobiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06937498198251713682noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4029604787408553966.post-13476288375537678362016-01-24T21:59:00.000+01:002016-01-24T21:59:16.622+01:00You know they are a scrapper's kittens when....Can you live with yet a kitten layout?<br />
Good, I thought so :-)<br />
<br />
<br />
Here they are, and as goodd scrapper's kittens, they are self sorting by color!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicG7_ohXYd0cJLl12cgWMrCv4G4B4u0Z5zbYWT17Jw1hz9GdsQAZ-rL8loGORiMDF89dqNnNeNvj48sxRG7xIdkKXCIrDVA3TyBlcFuVQNe6GLfCRrqdyTI0t2te07lkuoZ9UbBqgMm4ge/s1600/Self+Sorting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="636" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicG7_ohXYd0cJLl12cgWMrCv4G4B4u0Z5zbYWT17Jw1hz9GdsQAZ-rL8loGORiMDF89dqNnNeNvj48sxRG7xIdkKXCIrDVA3TyBlcFuVQNe6GLfCRrqdyTI0t2te07lkuoZ9UbBqgMm4ge/s640/Self+Sorting.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A scraplift challenge at <a href="http://www.paperissues.com/">Paper Issues</a> inspired me to do this layout. All the bits and pieces was perfect for using scraps from my scrap pile, and I thought using rainbow colors would emphasize the theme.<br />
<br />
So there are papers from lots of differents manufactorers here - none mentioned, none forgotten :-)<br />
<br />
Here is the layout I lifted:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje0Kx_zE_oHUGwETt-5_H_5VcLdDO9tLlOzPhp5cfaQJMVzz0Go2jp9lOJ9COaCnlcmC6xxC0pgNAtak19rbDN18pQGXwKVxwcJgc_jU8A7Madcr17GYD42KzDP-pjIQKXnISIEGabl_Cc/s1600/Pi+Lift+1701.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje0Kx_zE_oHUGwETt-5_H_5VcLdDO9tLlOzPhp5cfaQJMVzz0Go2jp9lOJ9COaCnlcmC6xxC0pgNAtak19rbDN18pQGXwKVxwcJgc_jU8A7Madcr17GYD42KzDP-pjIQKXnISIEGabl_Cc/s320/Pi+Lift+1701.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
