Caves - a two pager (!)

Just down by the hotel DS12 & I stayed at in Corfu, Greece, this summer, some locals offered tours to the nearby caves in their small boats. Small boats were great, as we could go into the caves where the bigger boats couldn't. It was so worth it, beacuse the caves were beautiful: beautiful with their rock colors made from minerals in the water over thousand of years, stalagmites and the beautiful light (click on photo for a larger version).

Papers & stickers: Echo Park. Alpha: AC. Washi: Freckled Fawn. Flair: Basic Grey. Buttons & clips: unknown

For details, please scroll down :-)

I have had these photos laying around for a while, but as I wanted to use more than just a photo or two, I hadn't decided how to scrap them. But when I saw this lovely sketch at Let's Scrap, it was obvious.

I haven't made a twopager in ages, but it wasn't that hard with a great sketch! When was the last time you made one?

Rock Lobster lunch

When DS12 and I was in Crete this summer, we had a great lunch at a sea food restaurant in Rethymnon. They had rock lobster on the menu, and as none uf us had eaten it before, we decided to dig in. Oh my, so yummie!

DS12 studying his plate before we start eating:

Background paper: Authentic. Other papers: Bo Bunny. Cut outs: & alpha: AC. Brads: MME. Epoxy stickers/words: Heidi Swapp.

The design is taken from this great sketch at Scrap Africa (sketch challenge 38):

I wanted to recreate that summer feeling from our holidays and spent the rest of my scraps from Bo Bunny's Lemonade Stand collection. I just love the bright happy colors!

Class photo - scrapping it just for fun

I was was browsing through the Big Photo post at The Studio Challenges when Anastasia's example gave me the idea on how to scrap DS12's class photo which was laying on the my desk.

Patterned papers, stickers & cutoouts: Doodlebug Designs. Ribbon & brad: unknown
The photo is taken this fall, so the Doodlebug designs' "Friendly Forrest collection had the perfect colors and patterns for my photo.

Close ups from the bottom part:

I have a few older class photos laying around, which I never have scrapped - I may lif myself and finally do them. As they go in different albums, nobody probably will ever notice they all have the same design *lol*

Do you struggle with scrapping class photos, too?

Ashes to ashes (The Studio November Sketch)

At The Studio Challenges it is time for another lovely sketch that Valerie as created for us. This time she took inspiration from Tessa's August Mood board layout. What a great sketch to get your inspiration going!

My FIL passed away in July. He didn't want a grave with a tomstone, so we applied the authorities for permission to spread his ashes into the sea, Permission was obtained and in late september we spread his ashes. We live at the seaside so every time we look at the window we are reminded of him.

Patterned papers, stickers cutouts & alpha: Doodlebug Designs. Flowers: Bo Bunny. Buttons & brads: unknown

Please come and join us at The Studio Challenges. You have until December 7th to upload your layouts :-)

The 7th grader

I cannot believe my youngest kid is 12 years old and a 7th grader. Here is this fall's school photo of him.

Patterned papers & stickers: Echo Park. Title: MyCreativeScrapbookKits

The Echo Park collection Creative Agenda was perfect for the theme!

The title came as part of the MyCreativeScrapbook September kit along with the collection mentioned.

I just loved all the white space in Creative Scrappers' sketch #281 and had to give it a try:

Have you scrapped this year's school photos yet?

Please return on Tuesday where I will show how I scrapped DS12's class photo, the most challenging photo to scrap, in my opinion!

Hello Barcelona!

We put in an extra day in Barcelona before embarquing our cruise ship in September.

What an awesome city! It had it all: architecture, culture, sea front, shopping, food markets etc etc. I want to go back, but then I need to stay longer to see and explore more.

Here are me and the kids heading out in the morning:

Patterned papers/die cuts: 4heures37. Wood veeners & vellum geo tag: Studio Calico. Button, words, stamps & brown alpha: Jillibean Soup. Black alpha: AC. Flair: Basic Grey

DS15's pink shirt was a perfect match for these fun papers from French "4heures37".

Crowded. Not

This is a beach outside Civitavecchia, Italy, on a sunny Saturday mid September. Not very crowded *lol* It might have to do with the fact that it was rather windy, and quite early in the day.

Patterned papers: Bo Bunny. Enamel dots: MME. Umbrella brads: Eyelet Outlet. Cutouts & alpha: AC. Washi: unknown

We were on a cruise and the ship had a stop in the said town/harbour. We didn't want to spend the day on the bus to and back from Rome - we can go there anytime, it's just a few hours flight from where I live - so we decided to go to a beach instead.

Close ups:

Overlays are so fun to work with but so hard to photo without getting reflections. Grrr

The cutest ubrella brads ever?

The design is inspired by this fun sketch at My Creative Sketches:

All materials are from the September Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook, except the umbrella brads, alpha, washi and enamel dots - a perfect match for my photo and thme.

Thank you for stopping by - have a lovely week!
