Dinner's ready!

Our cat Mercedes has a crush on boxes. She can spot a new box in just a few seconds, and doesn't always have time for us emptying it before she jumps on/in it. But I didn't expect her to take our oven pan for a box *lol*

Papers & stickers: Doodlebug Designs. Rosette: Pebbles. Alpha: Bella Blvd. Ribbon: Unknown
 Details:

This layout was made at the Paper Issues Spring Crop and the challenge "Big Ass Title": For this challenge we are asking you to us a LARGE title on your project.

Side note: The February kit at My Creative Scrapbook contained the Doodlebug Designs Sweet Things collection. I admit, I'm not very much into hearts and pink, so I was pretty sure this kit would stay unopened. But then I thought it could be pretty for the layout in this post, so I started cutting. And then I used it for the "Queen Elizabeth Look Alike" layout. And the "Empty" layout...

Does it happen to you, too - you think "nahhh" about a ollection, and when you finally take the plunge, you really love it?

Bird Card (card week day 2)

I spent the weekend making cards :-) I need some for myself, and my mum wants some, too, so I decided to just dive in and use up remains from kits and old stuff! I browsed my favourite challenge sites to kick start my mojo, and am going to share these inspirational places - and my creations - with you every day for an entire week! Today is day 2!

I had the remains of the January Kit from My Creative Scrapbook laying on my desk, and thought of one of the stickes on the sticker sheet, when I saw this sketch at Retro Sketches:

My take on the sketch:

Patterned papers & stickers: Pebbles. Pins & ribbon: unknown. Wire: the local florist

My sewing machine was still on my desk after a project I finished last week, so I took advantage of it and added some stitching.

The wire is from the local florist - I have them in several colors, and love how much they add to both cards and layouts.

Thank you for stopping by, and please come back tomorrow for another card :-)

Polaroid frame card (Card week day 1)

I spent the weekend making cards :-) I need some for myself, and my mum wants some, too, so I decided to just dive in and use up remains from kits and old stuff! I browsed my favourite challenge sites to kick start my mojo, and am going to share these inspirational places - and my creations - with you every day for an entire week! Today is day 1!

Let's start with a clean and simple card:

Cardstock: Bazill. Polaroid frame & stickers: Pebbles. Ribbon: unknown.
All materials except cs from MyCreativeScrapbook January kit

When I saw this sketch at CAS(E) this sketch, I imidiately thought of some paper polaroid frames I had laying around:

I just added left over paper clip stickers and yellow ribbon, and voila!

Close up to see the depth in this card (3D foam is a must have for me):

Thank you for stopping by, and please come back tomorrow for another card :-)

Exploring the neighbourhood

I live on the south east coast of Norway and this area is full of history. 20.000 years ago ice covered the coastline as we know it today, but due to Post-glacial rebound, the land was uplifted, and people could settle here.

I live in a small fjord, and it's nice to know the histories from this place: about the viking battles, ice export (!) to England, why the soil here is perfect for growing vegetables, and not cereals, etc etc. Luckily some of the people who live here, has large knowledge of the history, and like to share it with others. The photos on this layout is from one of these excursions.

Patterned papers & stickers: Pebbles. Alpha: AC. Buttons: unknown

The design for this layout is from this great sketch at My Creative Sketches:

and all the materials from My Creative Scrapbook kit club's February Creative kit.

Details:

I'm looking forward to joing the next excursion in the neighbourhood, and to learning more about this interesting area. Do you know your area well?

Under construction. Gingerbread house

Every Christmas hubby makes a gingerbread house with the boys. The youngest is always the most eager, but as soon as the house is up, he starts asking when he may tear it down :-)

Patterned papers, stickers & cut outs: AC, pebbles. Alpha: Jillibean Soup
The materials, except cardstock & alpha, is from the December Crative kit at My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club - perfect for the theme :-)

Details

The design is taken from the Desember Sketch at My Creative Sketches:

I flipped the sketch, and replaced one of the photos with gingerbread houses.

I'm now done with scrapping my Christmas photos - it feels great not having to pull out seasonal papers for a while:-) Are you done with yours?

The 7th grader

I cannot believe my youngest kid is 12 years old and a 7th grader. Here is this fall's school photo of him.

Patterned papers & stickers: Echo Park. Title: MyCreativeScrapbookKits

The Echo Park collection Creative Agenda was perfect for the theme!

The title came as part of the MyCreativeScrapbook September kit along with the collection mentioned.

I just loved all the white space in Creative Scrappers' sketch #281 and had to give it a try:

Have you scrapped this year's school photos yet?

Please return on Tuesday where I will show how I scrapped DS12's class photo, the most challenging photo to scrap, in my opinion!

Crowded. Not

This is a beach outside Civitavecchia, Italy, on a sunny Saturday mid September. Not very crowded *lol* It might have to do with the fact that it was rather windy, and quite early in the day.

Patterned papers: Bo Bunny. Enamel dots: MME. Umbrella brads: Eyelet Outlet. Cutouts & alpha: AC. Washi: unknown

We were on a cruise and the ship had a stop in the said town/harbour. We didn't want to spend the day on the bus to and back from Rome - we can go there anytime, it's just a few hours flight from where I live - so we decided to go to a beach instead.

Close ups:

Overlays are so fun to work with but so hard to photo without getting reflections. Grrr

The cutest ubrella brads ever?

The design is inspired by this fun sketch at My Creative Sketches:

All materials are from the September Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook, except the umbrella brads, alpha, washi and enamel dots - a perfect match for my photo and thme.

Thank you for stopping by - have a lovely week!

We all scream for ice cream (My Creative Sketches August sketch)

I have taken my kids on mini cruises to Kiel, Germany, three times - and on any of these trips we have ended up eating ice cream and drinking milk shakes in the same cafe :-) Has it become a tradition?

Patterned papers: Bo Bunny. Cut Outs & black alpha: American Crafts. Sequins: Doodlebug Design. Rosette: Pebbles

The fun papers and embellies are from the August Creative kit at My Creative Scrapbbok. I just added the black alpha and sequins.

Details:

Why do they always make goofy faces when I try to take decent photos of them?

And how lucky was I to fin this August sketch on the kit club's sketch blog, perfect for my three photos?

Does your kids make funny faces too, when you take photos?
