Who wants a cold beer?

I was in Lisbon, Portugal,  with some coworkers in June. I just loved the food and wine and the beautiful old city! The weather was just perfect so we did a lot of sightseeing - and walking in the sun meant getting thirsty. When asked - who wanted a cold beer?

Papers: Simple Stories. Wood words: Heidi Swapp. Buttons & beer sticker: from my stash

 Details:

This dimensional sticker has been on my desk for years. It finally found it's final placement :-)

These papers are from a Simple Story pocket page collection, but they are perfect for traditional layouts, too!

Asking: Who wants a cold beer?

The design is from the November sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers and My Creative Sketches::

I could use this over and over again :-)

Thanks you for stopping by - you know it means a lot to me!

Garden Gnome Model

We spent last weekend hiking in the Norwegian mountains. It was one of those wonderful fall weekends when the days start out with chilly mornings, just below the freezing point,  and end up with sun and temperatures at least 15 degrees higher. Mix it up with some wind and there are hours you take mittens and bonnets on - off - on - off - just because it's either too hot - or too cold.

I took some snapshots of my oldest son one of those hours - he really could not decide if to keep the bonnet on or not. With the bonnet half way off he reminded me of a garden gnome...

Papers & stickers: Bella Boulevard. Alpha: Echo Park & American crafts. Cut outs & buttons: Pebbles

 Close ups/details:

The deign is taken from this lovely sketch from Creative Scrappers.

Thank you for taking time to stop by! Do you have a garden gnome, btw?

The 7th grader

I cannot believe my youngest kid is 12 years old and a 7th grader. Here is this fall's school photo of him.

Patterned papers & stickers: Echo Park. Title: MyCreativeScrapbookKits

The Echo Park collection Creative Agenda was perfect for the theme!

The title came as part of the MyCreativeScrapbook September kit along with the collection mentioned.

I just loved all the white space in Creative Scrappers' sketch #281 and had to give it a try:

Have you scrapped this year's school photos yet?

Please return on Tuesday where I will show how I scrapped DS12's class photo, the most challenging photo to scrap, in my opinion!

Happy - The Studio Challenges Mood board challenge

The wonderful Tessa has created an awesome mood board for The Studio Challenges to work with:

The entire mood board inspired me to make the layout below: the theme, the colors and the details as the swim wear, sun deck chairs and the waves.

My youngest son just loves to swim - ocean or pool - it doesn't matter as long as he may swim.

Splash paper: Bo Bunny. Yellow paper: Studio Calico. Feelt stickers: Creative Scrappers. Chair border: SEI
Badge: unknown

Want to use a sun burst paper background but don't have one? DIY! It's so easy - all you need is two paers and a craft knife. I sketch up where I wanted the burst with a pencil and cut out the parts free hand. No ruler involved :-)

More detail photos:

Do you want to play with us at The Studio Challenges?
Please head over to the blog to see the rest of the DT's lovely interpretations of the mood board and to see how you can win a prize from our sponsor,

Launched (Creative Scrappers sketch #268)

Spring came early this year, and we had some lovely warm days in April. I live at the seaside, so it's often windy her, but we even had a week without wind and with sun.

DS11 decided it was time to get his boat back on water, but this particular afternoon I didn't have time to help him. But he had four strong buddies with him and they managed to pull the boat trailer by hand down to the sea front and launch the boat. Actually a car wouldn't have helped this early afternoon: we have a concrete ramp we use for launching boats, but this day the tide was so low, that a car would have had  to back all the way out on the sand bottom - and it would probably be stuck.

Here are DS11 and his brother on his way home:

Background paper: Webster's  Pages. Other papers: SEI, Sassafras Lass, LYB, Crate papers. Banner: Teresa Collins. Badges: The Paper Bakery. Wood pieces & epoxy stars: Freckled Fawn. Alpha: AC. Anchor: unknown

Details:

I found inspiration to this layout from Creative Scrappers sketch #268:

The six circles draw my attention, but I deciden to put my photo to the right of them. So I have streched the sketch to fit my needs, but I'm still happy with the result.

Have you had an early spring, too? or a nice fall if you are on the opposite part of the globe?
