Dream Team (?)

Late fall 2014 I picked up horse riding again after a fifteen year long break - I had to give up when I was five months pregnant with my oldest child, as the belly got to heavy (think stretch marks here *lol).

Then, in November, I did something I never have done before: I joined a equesterian competition! I admit I'm not good enough for the Olympic team yet, but you have to start somewhere! And we even won!

Here is me and my buddy "Hot Spot":

Papers & stickers: Echo Park. Journaling card: Studio Calico. Badge: Karen Foster

I even tried yoga for the first time in 2015, and have dcided my goal for 2016 is to try something I have never done before or in a very long time - I still don't know what it's going to be, though :-)

The design for this layout is take from this great sketch at My Creative Sketches (December sketch). I have had a long break from scrapping, so a good sketch was just what I needed to get started again :-)

Thank you for stopping by - you know it means a lot to me!

Exploring the neighbourhood

I live on the south east coast of Norway and this area is full of history. 20.000 years ago ice covered the coastline as we know it today, but due to Post-glacial rebound, the land was uplifted, and people could settle here.

I live in a small fjord, and it's nice to know the histories from this place: about the viking battles, ice export (!) to England, why the soil here is perfect for growing vegetables, and not cereals, etc etc. Luckily some of the people who live here, has large knowledge of the history, and like to share it with others. The photos on this layout is from one of these excursions.

I'm looking forward to joing the next excursion in the neighbourhood, and to learning more about this interesting area. Do you know your area well?

Dude - the Portrait of a 12YO

Hi.

As I told in my Monday post, we had a professional photo shoot while cruising last fall. Here is the portrait of my 12 year old (you find the portrait of the 15 year old here):

Papers: Echo Park (b/w background, LYB (blue), Pretty Little Studio (green/brown). Fabric Star: Charms Creations. Alpha: Basic Grey. Chipboard: LYB. Buttons & washi: unknown. Dymo: Dymo

Close ups:

I cannot recall the last time I used scraped edges on a layout :-)
Or my Dymo :-)

I found inspiration to this layout in the January Sketch at My Creative Sketches:

Tell me - have you used scraped edges or dymo lately?

Under construction. Gingerbread house

Every Christmas hubby makes a gingerbread house with the boys. The youngest is always the most eager, but as soon as the house is up, he starts asking when he may tear it down :-)

Patterned papers, stickers & cut outs: AC, pebbles. Alpha: Jillibean Soup
The materials, except cardstock & alpha, is from the December Crative kit at My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club - perfect for the theme :-)

Details

The design is taken from the Desember Sketch at My Creative Sketches:

I flipped the sketch, and replaced one of the photos with gingerbread houses.

I'm now done with scrapping my Christmas photos - it feels great not having to pull out seasonal papers for a while:-) Are you done with yours?

Crowded. Not

This is a beach outside Civitavecchia, Italy, on a sunny Saturday mid September. Not very crowded *lol* It might have to do with the fact that it was rather windy, and quite early in the day.

Patterned papers: Bo Bunny. Enamel dots: MME. Umbrella brads: Eyelet Outlet. Cutouts & alpha: AC. Washi: unknown

We were on a cruise and the ship had a stop in the said town/harbour. We didn't want to spend the day on the bus to and back from Rome - we can go there anytime, it's just a few hours flight from where I live - so we decided to go to a beach instead.

Close ups:

Overlays are so fun to work with but so hard to photo without getting reflections. Grrr

The cutest ubrella brads ever?

The design is inspired by this fun sketch at My Creative Sketches:

All materials are from the September Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook, except the umbrella brads, alpha, washi and enamel dots - a perfect match for my photo and thme.

Thank you for stopping by - have a lovely week!

Closet - teenager style

Sometimes my 15 year old son is a mess - especially when it comes to clothes. He obviously think the railing in the hallway is the perfect place to hang his clothes - hence the tiltle on this post and layout :-)

Papers, vellum pieces and printed chipboard: Pink Paislee. Alphas: American Craft. Cloth chipboard: Maya Road. Byttons: unknown

When I saw the sketch below on My Creative Sketches, I immidiately thought of cloth lines. I had the photo of DS15's clothes laying on my desk, so this layout was quick to make.

Here are some details from the layout:

Thank you for taking your time to stop by :-)
