50 is just a number

I'm so happy to guest design at CSI in March - the cases to be solved are always kick starting my mojo!

Here is this week's case:

And here is how I solved it:

Patterned papers: Basic Grey (blue), MME (others). Flowers: Prima (large peach colored), unknown (blue).
Journaling card: Jillibean Soup. Alpha: AC,. Lace: Harmonie. Eyelets: unknown

Journaling says: "In a short month I'm actually 50. I Wonder how you really should feel when you hit that milestone? There is so much that hasn't been done yet, especially when it comes to exploring the rest of the world, but luckily it's plenty more time left. May be the 70s are the New 50?"

How I solved the case:
*colors: all used
*Evidence: Stripes & dots, long title, lace, eyelets, stitching
*Testimony: Jornaling directly on the page

Feel like playing with us? You have until March 26th :-)

Childhood memories (The Studio Challenges December 7th Challenge)

As a kid, my mum, and later I, put our photos in albums and wrote some notes/the story behind the photos along with the photos. This is why I know this photo of my brother, my dad and I, was taken in 1976 on a canoe trip close to the Swedish border. The snap shoot photos are often of poor quality, but still good enough to tell about the 1976 camping fashion :-). On short line in the journaling tells that we still have the canoe - and use it!

CS: ClubScrap. Patterned papers: Harmonie, Fancy Pants Design. Wood items: Freckled Fawn. Buttons & cutouts: unknown

Here is this week's challenge at The Studio Challenges:
The Challenge today is: Childhood Memories, now is the time to go digging and find a lovely childhood photo with a story behind it. You could even recreate the photo, then and now!

This would be the perfect challenge for scrapping the old Christmas photo of you - or any other old photo!

Please head over to The Studio Challenges blog to see the rest of the DT's childhood memories and to play along. You have until January 4th to link up your creation!

Memory Maze May work + blog hop winner

Hello.

A week ago it was my turn to share ideas on how to use useboards on the Memory Maze blog. This time I focused on how to you small items/ATC sized chipboards on different creations. If you want to read the entire article, please visit my post at the Memory Maze blog, but here is the short version:

I started by making these three 2,5"x3,5" pieces.

The first one is used on an ATC (You find all the product information on the Memory Maze blog post):

Chipboard: Memory Maze. Stamps: Kaizer Kraft, Teresa Collins Stamp Maker
Alpha: Adornit: Paint: Parma. Ink: Ranger. Pen: Zig

The second is used on a card:

Chipboard: Memory Maze. Patterned Paper: AC. Alpha: Crate Paper
Pearls: Inkido

The third one is used on a layout (There is a lot of white-tailed deers where I live. As my gardens is fenced, just a low fence so my dogs can run free in it, they usually don't visit us. Spring this year must have been tought on the deers with lots of ice on the ground, making it hard to find anything eat, becuase they decided to pay my garden a visit - and they ate the pancies I had on a table next to the kitchen window).

Chipboard: Memory Maze. Patterned Paper: Harmonie. Bling: Petaloo.  Ribbon: AC. Cheesecloth: unknown

New The Studio Challenge is up - come and see!

Today is my first reveal at The Studio Challenges (TSC) and I so want to shout from the roof top: Come play with us, come play with us!

If you're not familiar with  TCS, here is a short intruduction:
  • Welcome to The Studio Challenge blog! We run fun scrapbooking challenges and sketches on the first and third Sunday's of every month to inspire you. We would love you to join in with us as we love seeing your creations and you could win some great prizes too, just link your layouts up in the side bar. Happy scrapping!

Today is the first Sunday of February, so we at TCS have a challenge for you:
As it's getting close to Valentine's day scrap a page about love and include at least 5 hearts in it.

Here is my example for you:

Moustache paper & stickers: Echo Park. Other papers & stickers: SEI. Trim: Harmonie
Alphas: AC (13), Basic Grey (others). Flair:

Designer's note: By keeping the hearts small, and adding masculine elements as the moustashes, this layout didn't get too feminin, even if the hearts are pink. My oldest son before his very first prom.

Add interest to you page by raising the hearts with 3D foam.

Please visit The Studio Challenges blog to see the other designer's lovely creations and to play along!
