Happiness is... CSI Special file & Scrap365 feature

CSI excited to reveal the sixth special Case File created for the collaboration with Scrap365,UK's biggest and best scrapbooking magazine.

This special Case File will be open for investigation for the entire month of June. CSI will have a new Scrap365 Case File every other month, with the publication of a new issue of the magazine. After this Case File closes, CSI will be selecting five favorite layouts to feature, and those people will be invited as CSI Deputies (guest designers) for August.

My example, which also is featured in the Scrap365 magazine:

PAPER: My Mind’s Eye, SEI.  EMBELLISHMENTS: Jillibean Soup  – word stickers, Studio Calico – wood veeners, Webster’s pages – large flower, Prima – small flowers , Cre8tive Cre8tions – Flair. ALPHAS: Jillibean Soup . UNKNOWN: Buckle, ribbon, pearls, doilie

Love can strike at any age, and broken hearts can be repaired – my mum’s, and step father’s, story is the proof! The colours and theme in this challenge were perfect for this photo and story, and gave me the idea for the design.

How I solved the case:
*All colors used.
*Evidence: Stripes, flowers, gold.
*Testimony: Six word memoir (Happiness is a broken heart repaired)

Now, please head over to CSI to see the rest of the DT's lovely examples and to play along! You have the entire month to make your creation!

It's all about colors and love at The Studio Challenges!

Which couple is the world's most famous? Is it David and Victoria Beckham? or may be it is this couple?

Sweet dreams.

In my DT post at the Memory Maze blog in June, I talk about where to find inspiration to tell the real stories, and one place is in words/titles. Often the title is thought of late in the creative process while scrapping, but the title can be the perfect starting point, too. In this blog post I will show you  my second of three examples

When I see the title Sweet dreams I think of cute, innocent babies. I don’t have cute, innocent babies anymore. I have one snoring, farting teenager and one snoring, farting teenager wannabe. But I have cats. And cats have a completely different view than me on the concept of Comfy Sleeping. So the title Sweet Dreams give this layout the perfect touch of irony, showing my youngest cat using a measuring tape as a pillow.

Chipboard: Memory Maze. Papers: Lemon Owl. Flair: Cre8tive Cre8tions. Twine: The Twinery. Pen: Zig. Ink: Ranger

A close up photo:

Big chipboard title inked in brown

Memory Maze product used:

ID S0560

I'll be back next week with a third example on how to use tiltles as a starting point, but if you want it right now, you find it in my post at the Memory Maze blog.

While creating - when in the process do you come up with your title?

It's the Weekend - OUAS March challenge

Hello friends!

Today has to be a fabolous day: it's Friday, which means the weekend, and it's March 1th, which means spring will be around any day in my part of the world.

A new month means a new sketch and challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. The March theme is:

"Its The Weekend!"
What does your weekend look like?

Some of you already know, but some of you don't, that every Friday night for as long as I have dated my husband, we have had our weekly Friday Night Date. It's an inhouse date, and it's the day at week we make some special food, share a bottle of wine and sit down and really talk. Our everyday life tend to eat up every spare time we have, so I sincerely believe those dates har been a key factor to keep our relationship healthy.

Chipboard: Imaginarium Designs. Bling: Designers Choice. Badge: Cre8tive Cre8tions.
Paper, ribbon, pucinella & charm: Unknown

All chipboard is painted with acrylic paint, the hearts then grid stamped and
repainted with white acrylic paint dots

Here is this month's OUAS sketch:

The "fine" print:

Theme: "Its The Weekend!"
What does your weekend look like?

Maybe you work, or run around like crazy taking your kids to activities etc. Lunch with friends? Movies? Dinner? Or maybe you do all the exciting stuff like ...clean the house, tend to the garden , kinds birthday parties. You might like to tell us of an exciting weekend coming up, or a weekend past. Maybe a weekend getaway? Whatever it is that you want to tell us that has to do with the theme "Its The Weekend" we would love to hear it.

Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.

Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Are you ready to get blown away by marvellous inspiration from the DT and the gust designers? Please check out the OUAS blog, and don't forget to read how you can win some fabolous prizes!

Have a happy weekend - how do you plan to spend your Friday Night?

Playing with Washi - The Studio Challenge February 17th

Hi.

Today's the third Sunday of February, which means we have a new challenge for you at The Studio Challenges: Create a layout with no pattern paper and get creative with washi tape.

I don't have many rolls of washi tape, but here are a few ways I thought of using it:

Inspired by a sketch from PageMaps which you will find at The Sassy Scrapper's blog

Use it as patterned paper stripes for your background, cover chipboard with it, make your own paper buttons, make your own flags by attaching washi to ordinary paper clips, cover office paper clips with washi.

Chipboard: Imaginarium Designs. Paper Clip: American Craft
White Cardstock: Bazill. Washi: Unknown. Flair: Cre8tive Cre8tions
Tag: Chic Tags

How do you use washi?
Do you want to show us at The Studio Challenge`s?

tirsdag 12. februar 2013

Tak! Merci! Danke! Thanks! Gracias!

Did you know this means Thanks in Danish, French, German, English and and Spanish?
You did?

How come I'm not surprised - after all you're an intelligent woman :-)

Cardstock: Bazill. Chipboard: Imaginarium Designs
Twine: The Twinery. Flair: Cre8tive Cre8tions

I made this card with inspiration from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #14.

As Valentine isn't really big here in Norway, I chose to make a Thanks card instead. You can't say Thanks enough, can you? A pretty chipboard, a piece of scrap paper, some twine and a flair -and of course a base card - you really don't need much more to make a simple Thanks card.

Thank you for stopping by - you know I really appreciate it!
