Too big - even for her :-)

My cat ponky hunts birds.
But she figured out this male pheasant would be too much, even for her!

Patterned papers & stickers: Echo Park. Brad: MME. Alpha: American Crafts

I still doodle on my pages!

I often put my title on the picture when I use large photos on layouts
I got the idea for this page from one of the January challenges at Paper Issues: Use a large photo on your layout. This photo needed to be large, or you would not see either the cat or the bird.

Do you use large size photos on your layouts?

You know they are a scrapper's kittens when....

Can you live with yet a kitten layout?
Good, I thought so :-)

Here they are, and as goodd scrapper's kittens, they are self sorting by color!

A scraplift challenge at Paper Issues inspired me to do this layout. All the bits and pieces was perfect for using scraps from my scrap pile, and I thought using rainbow colors would emphasize the theme.

So there are papers from lots of differents manufactorers here - none mentioned, none forgotten :-)

Here is the layout I lifted:

Crazy Cat Lady Starter Set

On September 24th, our cat Mercedes had four beautiful little kittens: to black/grey girls and two ginger boys:

Papers & word sticker: Authentic. Alpha: American Crafts. Ribbon: unknown

In the photo the kittens are 4 days old. The might look big, but their weights are 55-60 grams only.

Mid December they were ready to leave us, and I was happy to see them go to good homes where they will get the care and attention they deserve. Oh wait! We kept the most fluffy ginger: how could we not <3

Purrfect papers.

This layout was made back in November for one of the Paper Issues' November Challenges: a scraplift challenge.

Thank you for taking time to pop in :-)

Wedding cards

I often use sketches as a starting point when I make cards, but not always. For these three wedding cards I let the couple (cut file from Silhouette) be it, and I played with papers, design and colors.

All materials are from my pile of stash, so in general I have no clue about manufactorers.

Card #1

Croched doilie adds so  much structure!

Card #2

Simple but yet stylish (in my opinion :-). 3D foam adds depth!

Card #3

Not so traditional colors, but still a wedding card. Torn edges soften up the design

Thank you for taking time to stop by! Could you pick a favorite?

Let it snow

We finally have "real" winter and snow here in my part of Norway. But brrr!, it has been cold the last couple of weeks: between -18C and -10C (0-10F). But I don't complain: I prefer the clean & cold snow over grey & dirty!

Snow means shoveling. As our roof is steep and slick, the snow on it usually comes down from it all at once - which means more shoveling. And of course the snow lands just outside the front door: that's what the journaling in this layout is about :-)

Cardstock & vellum: ClubScrap. Paint/modelling paste: Panduro. Mask: ClearSnaps: Alphas: American Crafts. Snowflake brads: Freckled Fawn. Dies: Life Style Crafts. Doilie: unknown

The January Take 5 Tuesday Challenge at Paper Issues, inpired me to make this layout. Here’s how it works: each month there will be a list of items to use as inspiration and starting point for your project. From that list, you pick 5 items to use on your project. From the January liste I picked color green, snowflake, die cut, paint, alpha sticker, title, cardstock and hand written journaling.

Dream Team (?)

Late fall 2014 I picked up horse riding again after a fifteen year long break - I had to give up when I was five months pregnant with my oldest child, as the belly got to heavy (think stretch marks here *lol).

Then, in November, I did something I never have done before: I joined a equesterian competition! I admit I'm not good enough for the Olympic team yet, but you have to start somewhere! And we even won!

Here is me and my buddy "Hot Spot":

I even tried yoga for the first time in 2015, and have dcided my goal for 2016 is to try something I have never done before or in a very long time - I still don't know what it's going to be, though :-)

The design for this layout is take from this great sketch at My Creative Sketches (December sketch). I have had a long break from scrapping, so a good sketch was just what I needed to get started again :-)

Thank you for stopping by - you know it means a lot to me!

One sketch - three cards

Welcome back for another examplewhere I make three different cards using the same sketch.

The sketch I have used this time is this one from Retro Sketches:

For my first card I kept close to the sketch:

All materials are from my scrap box/bag of leftover embellies, so I have no idea about manufactorers

I chose to do the second card landscape orientation, but it's still close to the sketch.

Papers unknown. Stars: Studio Calico. Star overlay: Bella Blvd
3D foam adds dimension to the card:

After two cards in masculin colors, I felt like doing a more feminin one:

Thank you for stopping by. Please come back next week when I will give another example on how to make three different cards from one sketch.

Say hello to the newest member of the family zoo!

On September 24th our cat Mercedes had four lovely little kittens: to black/grey girls and two red boys. We desided to keep the long fured ginger - I always  wanted one. Here he is, Preben Mohammed:

In the photo he's four weeks old only. He had grown quite a bit since the photo was taken, but he still is Prince Charming.

Details from the layout:

Camera overlay, tab

Flowers (Queen &co), Smile sticker

Bella Blvd papers & chipboard

This layout was made in November at the Paper Issues Fall crop. The challenge was to scrap about you pet using non pet themed papers and embellies. I chose to go with the Bella Blvd Color Chaos collection.

Kittens are always scrap worthy. Please come back next week for more kitten layouts :-)

Let's start the new year with some cards!

Happy new year, people!

This blog has been dead since April, and I have hardly done any paper crafting since then. It startet with beeing busy doing other fun stuff, like gardening, renovating our house, horseback riding etc etc, and then I got the biggest Scrap.Block.Ever.

Then I got this big card order (60 cards) and I just had to force myself to picking up card making/scrapping again. How on earth do you attack a 60 card order, all of them need to be different?
I always return to sketches.

My card order is complete, and I got the inspiration to do three of the last ones from this great sketch at "Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge".

Here is my first card:

I chose to do my card landscape oriented, but you can still see the elements in the sketch :-)

I often make three cards with one sketch, as I often get new ideas when creating. I even did it easier for myself by sticking to the same paper collection for all the three cards, the Bella Blvd Color Chaos.

Next card:

And my third card - this time I flipped it and chose landscape again:

I often use 3D foram on some parts of my cards to make more dimension/depth.

Thank you for stopping by. Please come back on Tuesday for a layout featuring the newest member of the family zoo: our kitten Preben Mohammed. I also will show three new cards made from one single sketch on Thursday.

Have a fabolous week!
