Dude - the Portrait of a 12YO

Hi.

As I told in my Monday post, we had a professional photo shoot while cruising last fall. Here is the portrait of my 12 year old (you find the portrait of the 15 year old here):

Arbeidsuke (work practise week) - The Paper Bakery Sketch #26

Two weeks ago DS14 had "work practise week" and he stayed with me to test what a construction engineer's week was like. He was with me on loooooong meetings, we were out on our construction sites, the marine ones, too, and he did one of the most important jobs on a Friday: operating the waffle maker to keep the staff happy :-)

In his opinion the best part was to be out on the sites and the worst part to get up at 6am - we usually start work at 7am :-)

Lately I have challenged myself to use busy bacground papers instead of white cardstock or neutral ones. I'm happy how it turns out, even if the layouts get more busy.



I found the inspiration for the design from this fun sketch at The Paper Bakery:

I have stuck pretty close to the sketch's overall design except for replacing the half circles with squares and the trinagles with buttons. But you'll fin the triangles in other places on my layout!

I needed some boys' cards for upcoming birthdays and the sketch was perfect for the purpose.

We're celebarting Mother's Day in Norway today, and I was inspirated by the colors and dots in the challenge to make my mum this card:

The truth about mono skiing

..a way to look cool when you have fallen and can't get up without releasing (at least) one ski.

Details:

Working with coordinating lines is always easier than pulling out bits and pieces, I admit that. I had decided to go with papers from Pretty Little Studio's Monieur line, and to my big surprice it coordinated perfectly with a sheet of patterned chipboards from Simple Stories. I love when that happens!





I got the idea for this layout when I saw this sketch at the Pretty Little Studio blog:

I love how using the large tags worked out!

Recycling (layout)

Happy New Year, everybody!
Are you as excited to see what the new year will bring as I am?

I still have four more days left of my two week long holiday brake and I'm happy to know they will be spent up in the snowy mountains here in Norway. I have spent the break wisely, with family and friends, but I have also grabbed som Me Time - including scrapping.


I had some photos of DS11 laying on my desk, and this sketch at the Chic Tags blog was the perfect excuse for finally scrapping them:

Here is my take on the sketch, featuring DS11 who has recycled a pair of worn out cross country skis to make a cross bow (yes, it worked). Where he got the idea from? YouTube, of course...

Banner made of tags/journaling strips

The backround papers have premade holes (star, circle). I simply used a packaging from Chic Tags to put behind them - the blue dots where the perfect match to all the dotted banner pieces.
