Happy new year - and CSI case file no 221

Happy New Year, people!

Are you as excited about the new year as I am? While 2014 and 2015 was really tough on my family, 2016 was peaceful and calm but with some perfect, small challenges to remind us that life isn't easy all the time. I cross my fingers 2017 will flow easily, too!

I'm starting the new year scrap wise by sending congratulations to CSI on their fifth year! I'm proud to have been invited to the party with a GDT spot!

Here is the first CSI Challenge in 2017:

And here is my take on it:

How I solved the case:

Colors & sketch
  • All five colors + sketchused
Evidence:
  • Tiny dots, grid
  • Banners
  • Enamel dots
Testimony:
  • Inspiration Words: delicious, sweet, life
My journaling is about how sweet life can be; a weekend without the kids but With good friends and With lots of good Food and ine

Close up photos:

The materials is a true mix of manufactorers. No one mentioned = no one forgotten

Old overlays and brads from my stash

The overlay is pretty visible in this close up

Now, please head over to the CSI blog for a massive inspiration and to play along. Deadline: January 31th.

New goggles, much needed (CSI file #159)

This is my last layout as guest designer ("Special Investigator") at CSI in March, and here is the case to crack:

If you know me, you may have noticed I hardly ever use ink or paint or anything wet or messy, just because I don't have the patience for it. But this time I just kept adding like I was payed for it, and I loved how it turned out :-)

Patterned papers: unknown. Grid stamp: Kaiserkraft. Stensils: Thecraftersworkshop (grid), The Paper Bakery (hearts/circles). Rubons: Hambleys. Wood accents: Freckled Fawn. Epoxy heart; Heidi Swapp. Dymo: Dymo. Jewels & brad: unknown

How I solved the case:
*all colors used
*Evidence: Doodling, jewles, feathers, mixed media, grid pattern, rubons, love accents (the hearts)
*Testimony: Document things you love about you

Journaling says: " I love how I still challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone: I still ski and I have picked up equisterian again"

Ink & paint & my beloved dymo:

50 is just a number

I'm so happy to guest design at CSI in March - the cases to be solved are always kick starting my mojo!

Here is this week's case:

And here is how I solved it:

Patterned papers: Basic Grey (blue), MME (others). Flowers: Prima (large peach colored), unknown (blue).
Journaling card: Jillibean Soup. Alpha: AC,. Lace: Harmonie. Eyelets: unknown

Journaling says: "In a short month I'm actually 50. I Wonder how you really should feel when you hit that milestone? There is so much that hasn't been done yet, especially when it comes to exploring the rest of the world, but luckily it's plenty more time left. May be the 70s are the New 50?"

How I solved the case:
*colors: all used
*Evidence: Stripes & dots, long title, lace, eyelets, stitching
*Testimony: Jornaling directly on the page
